Training Portal Online recently appointed Obert Manyofa as Campus Coordinator at our Vereeniging Training Centre. Obert was born in Zimbabwe and started his career with Zimbabwe Sugar Refineries (ZSR) as a Goods Receiving and Costing Clerk. He then went on to train as a teacher with Marymount Teachers College, an affiliate of the University of Zimbabwe. In 1996 he started working as an educator while studying part time, and graduated in Business Administration with the London Chamber of Commerce and Industries in 1998. By 2001 he has also obtained diplomas in Personnel Management as well as a Bachelor in Technology: Education Management at Technikon Pretoria. Obert continued his studies and obtained a Higher Diploma in Human Resource Management and a Master in Business Administration in 2007. In 2021 he completed a Bachelor of Commerce in Industrial and Organisational Psychology with 12 distinctions. This completed an astounding set of three accredited degrees, four diplomas and various certificates.
Over the years, he managed learnership projects in the Western Cape, Gauteng, Limpopo, Mpumalanga and North-West. He planned and executed consult training projects for Black Rock Mining Operations, the Premier’s Office in Gauteng and the Independent Electoral Commission in Free State, Mpumalanga and Limpopo. In 2012 he was involved in a Community Development project consisting the training of Community Development Practitioners (CDPs) in five municipalities. This project developed community infrastructure, Integrated Development Plans, empowered youths, women and people living with disabilities. This was one of the most satisfying and life-changing contributions of his career.
Obert strongly believes that education helps people to get exposure to new ideas and concepts that can be used to appreciate and improve the world around and within us. He also believes in lifelong learning. He is, in fact, currently completing another certificate, in Organisational Analysis with Stanford University.
Obert joined Training Portal where he hopes to advance his passion for human skills development. He believes the next level of his career will be to contribute to Training Portal’s expansion and strategic objectives to grow its productivity and profitability.
